Academic and professional background
After obtaining his federal school-leaving certificate in Ticino (Collegio Papio, Ascona), Me Andrea Lezzi read law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Fribourg, gaining his Bachelor of Law in 2017 (cum laude) and his Master of Law in 2019 (magna cum laude).
During his Master's he specialised in private law, with a particular interest in the law of obligations — an interest that led him to write both a seminar paper and his Master's thesis on the reform of the Code of Obligations governing the new rules on limitation periods.
A keen teacher, he also led tutorials for final-year Bachelor of Law students in a seminar on contract law and civil liability.
Alongside his studies he was active in the “Permanence juridique bénévole” association in Fribourg, where he served as legal adviser as well as secretary general.
In August 2019 he joined Etude de Me Stéphane Rey as a trainee lawyer, becoming an associate after qualifying at the Bar in 2022.
At the Firm he has built solid experience in family law — the Firm's core practice — as well as in criminal law (notably domestic violence), employment law, administrative law (in particular immigration law) and contract law.
